Chocolate truffles are a chocolate candy, typically filled with chocolate ganache and coated with milk chocolate.

There are three primary styles of chocolate truffle.

1. The Swiss truffle is made with chocolate, cream and butter.
2. The European truffle is made with milk powder, cocoa powder, butterfat, and corn syrup.
3. The American truffle is made with a mixture of butterfat, milk and dark chocolates and coconut oil.

In addition to chocolate ganache, other fillings may include: liqueur, marshmallow, caramel, nougat, nuts and fruit.
